Have you ever used a sketch to get you started creating?

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today I'm hopping with an awesome bunch of talented Australian crafters who love sharing with you!!

This month, we are sharing our inspiration from the card sketches in the Mini Catalogue - these are a BRILLIANT way to get started creating!

I have flipped my inspiration sketch to accomodate my large greeting, but hopefully you can see where the inspiration has come from!  There's the flag detail underneath the main element and then the little flowers off the edge for the circle detail.

This card features the gorgeous Delightful Wishes bundle and the coordinating Floral Delight papers and Floral Vellum.

The greeting has been stamped directly onto the Floral Delight designer paper with Night of Navy ink - and this is something that I often forget to do!!  We have some fabulous designer paper that works perfectly to create great backgrounds behind our stamping.

It took me a while to work out the 2 step stamping of the flowers, however, I discovered that it really doesn't matter if the stamps line up because when they are die cut, there is some gorgeous white space too!

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing inspiration just for you!

What will I CASE today? CTC#505

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING from our Sale-a-bration Brochure which only goes for another 4 weeks!!  EEEK

I was inspired by this lovely card featuring the With You in Mind stamp set - this one is really really useful!!

I've used the same colours in the catalogue - possibly the only difference is the shape of the Basic White cardstock as  I don't have the Linked Together Dies illustrated in the catalogue.

I've also changed up the embellishments to the Antique Pearls which I think go with everything!

I love the idea of stamping the greeting all over the background creating a patterened paper kind of look!

Happy Australia Day! And CASEING gorgeous new exclusives CTC#504

This week, we are CASEING from our ONline Exclusive offering!  I was inspired by this gorgeous stamp set - Cake Celebrations combined with a new set - Elements of Text which gives a great vintage background for any stamp set!!

My card was inspired by a combination of both these inspiration cards!!  Did you know when you go to the Stampin' Up! website and look up a stamp set, that there is always an image of a project using that set which is fantastic inspiration and a great place to start to get ideas!

I've been inspired by the vintage colours and text in the background of the Elements card, and by the cake layout in the Celebration card.

I stamped the 2 layers of the cake onto the vanilla cardstock and then used my blending brush to create the rounded shape of the cake.  It was then fussy cut and layered on the card to show off the gorgeous stamping in the background.

Inside the card is more stamping and sponging. I've used Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss with a little crushed curry for the candle flames.  This helped coordinate the lovely open weave gold trim and the gold dots!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

This week, we are CASEING from our new Scrapbooking Brochure.

January 2025 Scrapbooking Brochure P16-17 © Stampin' Up!

I just loooooove the Everyday You and Me kit - it works for every event!!  And I love the colours too - they tend towards the neutral which works for most of my photos which are usually in nature!!

You know I LOVE kits, and I had to get this one.  So I have CASED one of the projects from the kit.

It almost the same as the kit which only a couple of tiny changes.  I added a Pretty Peacock mat underneath my photo.  And some Blooming Pearls.

Other than, that, all I needed to create this page was the Kit - there are gorgeous die cuts and stickers and lovely papers that are layered together for this page.

I love the little title stickers in this kit and can see lots of great projects coming up using them!

All I used for my page was the workshop kit, some extra pearls and adhesive!!  Perfect on a busy day still finishing off my craft room revamp!!  I'm now tackling all the hidden things in cupboards...sigh.
