Thankful Garden colour INKspiration #182

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in with the Colour INKspiration crew and our awesome colour combination!!

The soft colours this week look so so pretty together.  My starting point was the sumptuous curtains and the flowers and my card then flew together.

I've used a new stamp bundle - Thankful Garden combined with Beautiful Butterflies and Elements of Text (my current favourite).

In the background are some pieces of ephemera and Sale-a-bration paper.

I love the look of the Elements of Text stamping!!

Cute Fruit pouches CTC#508

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING the amazing Sale-a-bration brochure for the last time as there is ONLY a week to go EEK!

I just received these super cute fruit papers in my last order and couldn't wait to create the gorgeous pouch illustrated in the catalogue on page 5 of the catalogue.

These were on the kits bags for our Retreat Day yesterday and they looked sooo cool!!

How to make the pouches:
Each piece of paper is 6 x 6 inches
On one side score 1/2 and 5 1/4 inches
and on the other side score 1 1/2 and 4 1/4 inches
Fold along all score lines and cut off the corners at an angle

Adhere the sides together and then fold up the bottom to create the pouch.

The top corners were notched with the edge of the To the Point Punch to create the little curves

I've also used the same punch with the coordinating Bright Borders stamp set for the frame around the greeting from Memorable Blooms stamp set.  I hope you're inspired!!

Up next is the extraordinary Angela

Here's a fun sketch to get you scrapbooking now!!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today is Scrapbooking Global day!! Each month we share some great inspiration for you!

And for February it's my turn to choose the theme which means we have a fun sketch for you!!  I drew this freehand and then the AMAZING Courtenay put it into graphics for us - I love what she's done!

I found this page fell together so very easily!!  1.  I love sketches to get me started and 2. the Elements of Text stamp set was PERFECT for this page 3. torn edges with the two tone paper is a dream!!

And, you may have guessed it - I love green, so I was in my happy crafting scrapbooking place creating this page!

I have to admit I do like have a white background for scrapbooking too - it makes it so much easier to add colour - and the torn edges and the outlines for my photos really highlight the white details.

My journalling is on a scrap piece of paper lying around on my desk so I added that in too.  Another of my additions was some of the Iridescent Discs (which have a lovely shiny green in them!!)

I really hope YOU are inspired to try this!!
Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AMAZING projects!!

Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop - Sale-a-bration

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today I'm joining the fabulous paper crafting monthly blog hop of fabulous international crafters.  Join us for a world tour of inspiration!

Our theme this month is Sale-a-bration - a brilliant time of year!

My card features 2 Sale-a-bration freebies - the Bloom Impressions papaer and the fun Starstruck embossing folder.

This is a fun technique where you adhere all the designer paper and then emboss the whole panel to give it texture - a lovely way to show off paper.

My stamping comes from the Bright Borders and Simply Said stamp sets with Blueberry Bushell ink - which is one of the colours in the gorgeous paper.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AWESOME inspiration!!
