Christmas Crafting with Let's Craft Together blog hop

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm hopping with an awesome bunch of talented Australian crafters who love sharing with you!!

Our challenge this month is all about colour!!

And I've been guided by the inspiration picture too with my Christmas card.

The stunning Golden Greenery dies work really well for the 'tree' detail, and I've added some shimmery white embossing paste to give them shine detail!

The baubles come from the Unbounded Love dies using the Moody Mauve cardstock. I've added extra colour using a blending brush and ink, as well as a little shimmery white embossing paste and a touch of white ink in the centre to highlight the rounded shape.

The absolutely gorgeous Cherry Cobbler ribbon ties bows so beautifully!!  And my greeting comes from the Joyful Sayings Mix and Match pack.  I actually layered 2 of the same greeting.

My card base is the Pretty Peacock, but I've chopped up a Brushed Gold card for the front and inside panels - easy way of creating a backgound!!

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing inspiration just for you!

Autumn to Christmas CTC#494

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING a sketch from our Mini Catalogue.

I love the simple design and colours in this card!

Because I'm in my Christmas Cardmaking Season, I had to create a Christmas card and used this sketch along with the Falling Snow and Peaceful Evergreen stamp sets.

It's a bit tricky to tell in this photo, but I was really going for LOTS of sparkle on my card.  There are actually 4 different ways to add shine and sparkle - silver foil, glimmer paper, rhinestones and shimmery white embossing paste!

I swooshed some Shimmery White embossing paste all over my card after I had stamped the Falling Snow and the large tree from Peaceful Everygreens.

I love the way that the embossing paste blurs the colour on the tree a bit and gives it extra colour!

Inside the card is the simple stamping without the embossing paste.

What do you think?  Would you like to smear shimmery embossing paste all over your card?

Up next is the extraordinary Rochelle

Make sure you keep hopping!
