Scraplifting my friends!!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today is Scrapbooking Global day!! Each month we share some great inspiration for you1!

This month the lovely Tina has given us a fabulous challenge!

I think scraplifting is the same as CASEING - and I'm a huge fan of both strategies as sometimes you just need inspiration from your friends!

I just HAD to scraplift Tina herself!!  I love ths simplicity and gorgeousness of her page!

And of course I wanted to add my own spin to her page too!!  AND I wanted to try some NEW crafting products.  These are coming next month - the gorgeous Happy Hibiscus Hybrid folder and stamp set - although if you want them NOW, you can add them to your starter kit with the AMAZING joining special happening THIS MONTH!! Click here for more information or contact me here

My base card is some of the new Two Tone Pool Party paper which allowed me to use the lighter tone as my background.  And look at these STUNNING embossed flowers!!  This stamp set AND dies AND embossing folder all coordinate SPECTACULARLY!!  I love it.

The first step for my page was to create a circle on my background using my largest dinner plate and scoring around the edge using a stylus tip.  I then stamped fronds from the Painted Lavender stamp set with Mossy Meadow.  And then stamped some cute dots from Regal Flora with Soft Sea Foam and then the cross hatch stamp from the Happy Hibiscus with Lemon Lolly ink.

I've coloured the centres of my flowers using Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends.  The outline has been stamped with Crumb Cake.  And after I'd cut them out and mounted them on my page I added some Metallic Enamel Effects (gold).  These lovely die cut Mossy Meadow leaves also come from the Happy Hibiscus dies.

I did use Tina's lovely idea for the double label from the Regal Flora dies, but I had to put it in a different place because I wanted to cover another person in the photo that isn't in our family!!!  haha
The lovely page title of "you Make me Smile" comes from the Happy Hibiscus stamp set which is part of the Online Exclusives offering next month.  Demonstrators can order it early which is fabulous!! If you'd like to order early, consider joining my amazing Team Handmade - especially as we have a BRILLIANT  EXTRA VALUE joining promotion for October!  Find out more here.

I really hope YOU are inspired to try this!!
Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AMAZING projects!!

Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop - Tis the Season!!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today I'm joining the fabulous paper crafting monthly blog hop of fabulous international crafters.
Join us for a world tour of inspiration!

Our theme this month is all about our Season!!
And I'm in full swing with my Christmas Cardmaking Season!!

This is one of our cards at our Christmas Cardmaking classes this month.  I've used the lovely Sentimental Christmas paper which is actually the fundraising paper for Stampin' Up! this Christmas and I do love knowing that I'm helping others when I'm happily creating my cards!!  This card ALSO features some NEW goodies coming soon - the soooo soft and super sweet Lost Lagoon cording and the gorgeous riverside pearls.  And can you see the lovely Falling Snow stamping in the background on the tag?  It's so soft and sweet!

The main stamping I've coordinated with this lovely Sentimental Christmas paper comes from the Golden Greenery stamp set with the Greetings of the Season stamp set.  I've also used some of the Greetings of the Season dies for my labels on the front and inside of my card.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AWESOME inspiration!!

More Adventures with Scrapbook Kits! Check it out!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today, I'm keen to share some Scrapbooking Inspiration with you!!

Our Blog Hop is anything goes in our scrapbooking.  I love being part of this blog hop because it gets me scrapping every month!!  I love the deadline of actually getting my pages done!

This is my inspiration for my page -  As a demonstrator we receive regular fabulous emails with inspiration and crafting ideas and I really liked the way these pages showed some simplicity and also made use of Memories and More cards.

Instead of using Memories and More cards, I've used the NEW Reindeer Memories scrapbooking workshop.  As you can see, I've not used this kit for Christmas crafting but the papers worked quite well for my photo.

I've also used a really great stamp set for scrapbooking - Love This Moment.  All the stamping in Crumb Cake and Real Red uses this stamp set!

The outline around the edges of my page was done freehand using the Crumb Cake marker - I just drew the square twice!

Make sure you keep hopping for LOTS more great Scrapbooking Inspiration!!

Easy Peasy TAGS for everyone!! CTC#491

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING a sketch!!

I've chosen this cute tag on page 16 and made a bunch of tags for our Retreat Day kits for everyone!

This is a fun project with so many options for design!!  I basically kept to the same layout for all of them with the main feature on the left side and a greeting extending over to the right.

The Joyful Tags and Greetings and Images are just perfect!!

I've used the gorgeous Cherry Cobbler ribbon for all of the tags.

You really need to try these amazing ephemera packs - they are fun and easy!!  I ended up making 24 of them for everyone's kit bag for Retreat Day - and they're all different!

Up next is the extraordinary Rochelle

Keep hopping to see lots of great ideas
