You NEED Mix and Match in your life!! CTC#487

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING the Mix and Match pages of our new Mini Catalogue. I LOVE the idea of Mix and Match as it makes cardmaking so much easier and quicker and accessible for EVERYBODY.

The first thing I did was to merrily CASE a bunch of the designs on these pages exactly as they are in the catalogue - except I cut these gorgeous dipped gold cards in half and just used them as card fronts to give me twice as many cards!

It's fun adding bits and pieces of each of the ephemera packs to create the gorgeous cards.

Even the tag ideas in the catalogue are inspirational.

As you can see, I got a little creative when I swapped out the snow man for a Christmas tree on one of the cards.

And THEN, I was in the groove and created this fun z fold card so that I could see all of the printed gold dipped gorgeousness.

I used 2 tags exactly the same for the front and the inside of the card and then added some fun images to the front - inspired by the catalogue of course!

I hope you give the Mix and Match products a go - they really DO make cardmaking so much easier and quicker and really FUN!!

Delicious colour INKspiration #173

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in with the Colour INKspiration crew and our awesome colour combination!!

I've inverted our inspiration pic for my Christmas Tree cards this week!!

I love the combination of the Shy Shamrock with the Cherry Cobbler - they work so well together.

Hopefully you can see it in the photo, but I've used shimmery embossing paste on my trees.  I embossed the Very Vanilla cardstock first using the Painted Trees embossing folder, and then I added colour using the Shy Shamrock ink and a blending brush and then the embossing paste over the top very lightly to create lots of lovely sparkle!

And then the trees feature some Shy Shamrock glimmer paper stars and Cherry Cobbler pearls.  Very simple card really.

Inside the card is simple stamping.

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by checking out all of the creations of the Colour INKspiration Crew in the challenge album on our Facebook page. What's best about Memory Keeping?

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today, I'm keen to share some Scrapbooking Inspiration with you!!

Our Blog Hop is anything goes in our scrapbooking.  I love being part of this blog hop because it gets me scrapping every month!!  I love the deadline of actually getting my pages done!  This month I was inspired by this lovely page in the Mini Catalogue on page 55.  I love it's calm simplicity.

My stamp set bundle is the Friends for Life bundle from the annual Catalogue.  What's best about Memory Keeping is creating these Special Moments out of ordinary events.  Out friends visited for afternoon tea and we took a snap, and it was just a wonderful opportunity to celebrate having great friends!  We have so many blessings to enjoy!!

And the colours are Shy Shamrock and Peach Pie (mainly because they were the colours left in my designer paper pack that I used in the background!!)  I thought they worked quite nicely with the colours in my photo.

Can you see that lovely die cut word?  It actually only says 'friend' but I wanted it to be plural, soooo I created an 's' but die cutting the word again and then chopping the letters 'n' and 'd' and laying them sideways - looks pretty cool I think!

It's pretty rare for me to create a page with only one photo!!  And I do like all the white space and the simplicity of my page!!  I die cut the hearts to create a mask and then used a blending brush and Peach Pie ink for this little detail.

Make sure you keep hopping for LOTS more great Scrapbooking Inspiration!!

I've been inspired by the lovely card in the top left of the images on page 34 featuring the Regal Flora Suite.

This is such a lovely way to show off the glorious paper in this suite!

The stamps also have a really beautiful watercolour look that works perfectly with the paper.

Inside is the extra piece of paper sliced off from the front panel - no waste!!
