A pretty colour combination for Colour INkspiration challenge #172

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining in with the Colour INKspiration crew and our awesome colour combination!!

These colours are great and the image is just sooo pretty - and I'm still inspired to use them for another project!!

But for tonight, this is my card featuring these colours.  I'm sort of happy with it......

I've used the lovely Everyday Greetings stamp set combined with the Golden Greenery dies AND using some super cute glimmer papers!!

My base card is one of the brushed gold cards folded inside out and creating a z fold - that way you get to enjoy ALL the gorgeous gold on the card.

I've cut 2 dies from the Greetings of the Season dies that are lined up exactly the same when the card is closed, but give you a fun panel for the front and a writing panel for the inside of the card.

The gorgeous glimmer paper comes from 2 different packs - the In Colour glimmer papers AND some gorgeous NEW glimmer paper coming in the Mini Catalogue.  I think you would enjoy making this card!

You make my heart smile CTC#484

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight you get to enjoy our amazing CASEING the CATTY blog hop.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty!)

This week, we are CASEING anything from our Annual Catalogue - so much to choose!

I have chosen this gorgeous layout for the Layers of Beauty stamp set on the left of page 57.

My colours are totally different, but it's basically the same card.  I've used Pretty in Pink and Moody Mauve for the roses, and Old Olive for the leaves.

I stamped the outline using Pebbled Path which is more discrete than basic black I believe, so I've also made the background Pebbled Path using the Exposed Brick embossing folder.

Inside the card repeats the same colours for the roses.

My finishing touch is to pull the threads of the Pretty in Pink ribbon and added the strands behind the main greeting.

Up next is the extraordinary Kathryn

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing projects!

Check out our Facebook group for lots more inspiration!

Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop - Masculine Inspiration

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today I'm joining the fabulous paper crafting monthly blog hop of fabulous international crafters.  Join us for a world tour of inspiration!  Our theme this month is Masculine!

I'm playing with a new stamp set coming in the Mini Catalogue starting on 4th September - called the Regal Flora stamp set.  Those lovely leaves have exquisite detail.  I've stamped them using Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.

I've also used some of the Country Woods paper AND the textured woodgrain paper from our Annual Catalogue.

Inside of the card features the piece of paper I cut off the front for the diagonal!  What a great way to use it up!

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of AWESOME inspiration!!

A bespoke Sunflower Wedding Card

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

This week, I had the privelege of creating a wedding card to order.  The brief was Sunflower Theme and Cream.

I've added a bunch of Gold Foil accents and used one of my favourite fun folds to add a 'wow' on the inside of the card.

Here's the video showing the basics of this fun fold with the pop inside.

Because this was a wedding card, I used a Very Vanilla card base of 6" x 12" and scored it at 3", 6" and 9" for the concertina.  My panels of Wild Wheat are all 5 3/4 " x 2 3/4" and there are 6 of them.
All the Designer paper is 5 1/2 " x 2 1/2" and there are 2 different designs with 2 pieces each, and then I have the 2 writing panels of Very Vanilla at 5 1/2" x 2 1/2".

For the stamping I have used Wild Wheat ink and:  Cheerful Daisies, Something Fancy, Everyday Greetings and Heartfelt Hexagon stamp sets.  The flowers were filled with Crushed Curry ink and Copper Clay ink.  I have also used a blending brush and Crushed Curry ink to give the flowers more fullness after being die cut with the Cheerful Daisies dies.

On the front of the card I've added some Metallic Enamel Effects for the flower centres.  And the leaves are cut from Gold Foil using the Stippled Roses dies.  The front and inside feature panels are cut from the largest Nested Essentials dies.

I've also stamped some flowers and leaves for the envelope.  The leaves come from the Regal Flora stamp set and coordinating die set.

It's always a pleasure to create a bespoke card, and I hope the newly married couple love it too!!
