Do you love a sketch?

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

Tonight I'm joining with the CASEING the CATTY crew.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything  or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Catalogue.

This week, we are CASEING a sketch form page 68 featuring butterflies.

I've decided to use this sketch for a card featuring the great Adventurous Sky.

I've used 2 of the designs from the coordinating Take to the Sky designer paper and then added the plane across the diagonal line where the butterflies went.

There is actually only 1 plane facing this direction, so my little plane on the right of the card is actually stamped using a mirror image technique.  I inked the stamp and then stamped onto a silicon mat.  I then added cardstock over the top to transfer the image from the silicon mat to the cardstock.  Once it was coloured in, it was hard to tell that the image had been stamped from the silicon mat!

My card is also a bit of a fun fold with the front panel following that fun diagonal line.

I hope you try this sketch too!!

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of great projects.  Up next is Rochelle!

  1. What a great card, and I love the fancy fold element, it really does make the planes fly!
