Hello and Welcome to our fabulous colour challenge!!
This group shares great inspiration all using the same colours - you'll be amazed at the variety of projects!!
I have used these colours for some practice colouring techniques - using ink and water painter for the cards on white bases, and Stampin' Blends for the cards on Balmy Blue bases - so, what do you think? Which do you prefer and why?
My first card below was painted onto Fluid 100 watercolour paper using inks and a waterpainter. The image was stamped using Saddle Brown Stazon Ink.
Using the Fluid 100 paper really allowed me to give a lot more intensity for the colouring. I was able to add a lot more layering of ink and blending the colour.
Here is a card using Basic White cardstock and water painter and Ink again with Saddle Brown for the image stamping - this ink is solvent based and so perfect for using with water painters as it doesn't bleed. The colour is a lot softer on the basic white cardstock.
This is water painter and ink onto basic white cardstock - just a different stamped image. I have used the lovely Eucalyptus embossing folder in the background.
This is the first of the 2 cards using Stampin' Blends for the same image. The background stamped was done using Pecan Pie ink which does not bleed when using the alcohol markers. I've coloured onto basic white cardstock. Using the blends allows for a soft blending of colour and you can keep adding layers of colour which allows some great depth of colour.
This card is the same, but I've used Very Vanilla cardstock for the circle image - along with the deckled circles dies instead of the deckled rectangle dies that are used on the other cards.
Inside the card is some simple shapes and greetings.
This card also features some splattering using the Pecan Pie Stampin' Blend.
So, which would be your favourite way to colour? And which effect do you like best? I'd love to know what you think!!
