Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY!
To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything, and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues which are FULL of inspiration.
This week, we are CASEING an Animal card in either Catalogue.
My card is inspired by the lovely little chickie card on page 27 of the Mini Catalogue featuring the Easter Friends stamp set. I have also been inspired by Erin and her slimline card here.
I liked that the chicken card is a slimline card and there is a definite line across the card in between the sky and land. I like the lovely edge of flowers and the greeting in the top right of the card. My card ended up being VERY different though!!
I have used the stunning Waves of Inspiration bundle which has been a hot favourite on my desk this week!! I stamped the wave using Pacific Point and the Stamparatus (this large stamp works really well using our amazing Stamparatus) on one side of my card, and then one of the ground images from Oceanfront with Crumb Cake on the other side of my card.
I've added some of the reeds using Soft Suede and also stamped and die cut my pelican with Soft Suede. I stamped a bunch of extra posts for my pelican to hop around on!! The clouds and extra birds were die cut from the Supple Shimmer paper and the waves dies.
I have also added extra colour to my pelican posts with Soft Suede Stampin' Blends.
The inside of my card is a repeat of the front of the card with some extra room for writing to the recipient!!
This will be my card to showcase on my Facebook Live on Thursday, the 24th March at 10am on Handmade by Julia Quinn!! See you there.
Up next is the amazing Rachel and her great card inspired by Animals!! |

Love this! Great use of the posts to separate the wave from the ground. The little pelican is cute. With the different textures of clouds, the wave, posts etc it makes it look 3D.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing scene you've created. The slimline style lends itself well to this panoramic beauty. Love how you've repeated it on the inside as well.
ReplyDeleteWow what a stunning card!! I love the slimline style.
