Hello and Welcome!!
Our son is on his way very quickly to becoming an Architect. Last week he turned 25 and ALSO completed his Masters in Architecture on the same day!! Woohoo.
Soooo, his birthday card had to be something special - and this was my creative attempt at his 'Architecture' inspired fancy fold card!! Would you like to know how I created it?
I used Smoky Slate cardstock and Basic Grey to create a Pop Up Front Step Card. (what a mouthful of a name for a card!)
Here's a video by France Martin showing you the basic process.
My card base is 10.5cm x 29.5cm and scored at 14, 19, 23, 28 cm to create the little front box at the bottom. The 'building' was created using 15cm x 7cm scored at 9cm and 14cm.
I added 1cm strips to the front of my building, and then some fussy cut greenery from the Bloom Where You're Planted paper. The front 'brickwork' of my card was stamped using Basic Grey and the Natural Textures stamp set. The background of my card features the lovely Beauty of the Earth paper for the sky and some birds stamped from the Sailing Home stamp set.
The beauty of this card is that it folds flat to fit into an envelope, but then pops up to be displayed and help celebrate the birthday!
I've made my card base much deeper that those on the video so that it would stand up better!!
