Scrapbooking for the boys!

Hello and Welcome!!

Today I'm hopping with an amazing group of Scrapbookers who share brilliant inspiration for memory keeping using Stampin' Up! products only.  

And, the BIG excitement is......... look who's the newest member!!  Woohoo!! 

 

This month, the theme we are scrapping is all about the boys!    

This brilliant theme gave me a chance to really play with colour, AND scrap some great photos from my husband's recent fishing exploits!  It's so lovely to see him enjoying his leisure and having a little break, and I really love fresh fish - my favourite is whiting!!  

For the background, I splodged and spritzed some inks - Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana.  I recycled a plastic covered packaging from our designer series papers, added drops of ink, spritzed and then lay my white 12 x 12 paper over the top and rubbed the inks together all over my page.  

I then added detail by flicking ink using a water painter, and stamping with Pacific Point and the sandy image from the Seascape stamp set.  I also stamped the little fishies from the Seascape stamp set and heat embossed them silver all over the bottom half of the page.  Then, I die cut MORE fish using the coordinating Sea life Dies and some Sale-a-bration Be Dazzling paper (swoon - I love this paper AND I think it's texture really looks like fish scales!!)

For the journaling panels I've used the three frames in the Potted Succulents dies.  These were mounted over some gorgeous silver mesh ribbon.

I was pretty pleased with how my page turned out as this is the first time I've tried adding colour to my page like this!!  The finishing touches are some Blue Gems and Opal Rounds.

I also had limited time to complete my page as I had a class all morning this morning, and only made my page today!!  So it had to come together quickly!!
