Spectacular Sunset Colours Colour INKspiration#97

Hello and Welcome to our stunning colour challenge this week!!

Colour INKspiration is a challenge which features some gorgeous images which then have their colours converted into some of the amazing tones from Stampin' Up!  This photo is credited to Phil Winterton Gunnedah NSW.

The colours this time are:  Rococo Rose, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry and this stunning photo was the perfect starting place for my project.  I have these lovely photos of our girls watching the sunset one day, and knew this is what I wanted to create as a project to showcase these colours.

I had all sorts of grand plans for creating a blended background for my page using the blending brushes, and in the process I discovered that blending and sponging is NOT my super power!!  Sooooo, I then decided to create a water colour wash with the fluid 100 paper and all the inks, and this did not look like what I had imagined in my head either!  So theeeen, I ripped pieces of paper and added them in layers to create my 'sunset' background - what do you think?

I did NOT waste all my ruined blending failures however, instead I used them as the base to stamp the hibiscus and frangipani flowers from the Timeless Tropical stamp set. I used Memento Black ink and then fussy cut them all.

On some of the frangipani flowers, I've added a touch of Stampin' Blends for extra detail in either the Calypso Coral, Rococo Rose, or Pumpkin Pie.

The two sayings on the page come from the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set from our Mini Catalogue.

There's a little of the gold twine from the Forever Greenery ribbon pack along with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter and a few Rhinestone jewels.

The only other colour I've used on the page is some black - like the photo stimulus!!
