Hello and Happy New Year!
Welcome back to Colour INKspiration with a fabulous celebration!!
It’s exactly 3 years to the day that Colour INKspiration launched on Facebook –
11th January 2017. Our challenge is about using colour and we usually have a particular colour theme for each challenge, but for this special event, we are choosing our favourite 3 Stampin' Up! colours!!
The theme is BIRTHDAYS and you can choose your 3 favourite Stampin' Up! colours as well as the neutrals and metallics that are allowed. You can enter as many times as they like.
This special challenge will run for a whole month over the summer ‘break’ until February the 10th.
The colours I've chosen are: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White and Coastal Cabana!
I'm a lover of blues and greens and I really love creating monochromatic one colour theme cards (sometimes I find it tricky putting different colours together - so working in the same colours is soooo much easier!!!)
My project features one of our gorgeous Sale-a-bration stamp sets - Happy Birthday to You. It has a divine image suitable for all types of colouring!!
This card will feature at one of my classes featuring watercolour paper techniques. I've used an aquapainter and watercolour paper to create the gorgeous tones on my image.
The birthday cake was heat embossed with white embossing powder first (as is the greeting), and then watercoloured in soft tones - adding more ink and depth for the main images. The fabulous part of watercolour paper is that it will cope with many layers of watercolouring giving you the opportunity to build up colour for more depth and intensity.
The finishing touches on my card are some more gorgeous Sale-a-bration rewards - the Metallic Bakers Twine and sequin pack which feature Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and So Saffron.
The inside of my card has a couple of more sequins and another greeting from the same stamp set.
Up next on our fun birthday hop is the lovely Chloe and her amazing colour choice!!
We would LOVE for you to join in the fun with us for our special birthday challenge - and you have a whole month to add your project to our facebook challenge page - or you can enter lots of times!!! What an awesome way to get your creative year started!!
