Hello and Welcome to a marvellous colour challenge for Winter!!
The colour INKspiration team finds some amazing images from Pinterest and challenges us to use our Stampin' Up! colours as a starting point for creativity!!
Check out this delicious image and the colours for this time! They are Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Gold Foil.
These colours were just PERFECT to coordinate with a gift prepared by my daughter for her bestie!!
So, armed with these great colours and the look of the finished gift, I started my creative journey!!
The first step was to recreate the basket base. After a couple of experiments, I eventually made a double layer for the base of the card. This exploding box starts as a 12" x 6" piece of crumb cake scored at 3 1/2", 5 1/2", 9", 11" along the long side and then scored at 3 1/2" on the short side. I then created the basket overlay with a piece 7 1/2" x 3 1/2" which was embossed using the Basket Weave 3D folder and then attached to the base of the card.
Using the gift as my inspiration I added some pretties to the inside of my exploding box. These were die cut from: Well Written dies, Stitched Labels dies and the 18 came from bits and pieces added together from the Hand Lettered Prose dies.
The side panels were embossed with the Lace 3D folder.
The reverse of the card features stamping from the Beauty Abounds and Praiseworthy Prose stamp sets.
All of the butterflies and birds and hearts were attached into the box using strips of window sheet and mini glue dots (love glue dots!!!!!).
Up next with this gorgeous colour scheme is Liz and her stunningly sweet card!!
It's super easy to join in the fun with us too! Get creative with these colours and add your project to the lineup on our facebook challenge page!!
How amazing that your card matches the gift so closely! One of the joys of cardmaking - you always get just what you want. :-)
