The last hurrah! Favourite Retiring Project! CTC#180

Hello and Welcome to another wonderful CASEING the CATTY Sunday Night Blog Hop.

This week is OUR LAST WEEK sharing and inspiring you from the Annual Catalogue.
We are sharing our Favourite Retiring Project for CT180 for this last week.

No automatic alt text available.

Make sure you hop around everyone in the team to get the last hurrah of our Annual Catalogue. There is some wonderful inspiration for you, as always, and it's a brilliant way to spend some creative time!!   Before me is Bronwyn.

'
I've chosen to case this super sweet artistic card on the right hand side in the picture on page 24 of the catalogue.  I have admired this all year - and now, at the last opportunity, I've finally CASED it!!!

Instead of heat embossing my floral image as per the original, I have used the gorgeous new Lovely Floral embossing folder for the main image.  I then sponged Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue and Coastal Cabana over the top of the debossed image to create the white outline.

I've then use the same Flourish Thinlits as the original with Bermuda Bay cardstock.

My final touch is a sparkly faceted gem for the centre of the die cut flower.

So pretty!!
Thank you Stampin' Up! for the awesome inspiration on every page of the catalogue!
Next week, we will be inspiring you from the New Catalogue which goes live on 1st June - so make sure you stay tuned to see some lovely new ideas!!

Next up on the hop is the lovely Peta and her collection of cards.

And please feel free to join in the fun of the challenge and add your projects to our facebook page with all the other awesome inspiration!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,
Love Julia   x

The Bright Fun of Colour INKspiration #34

Hello and Welcome to our wonderful Colour INKspiration blog hop challenge!!  Make sure you keep hopping all the way around - I promise you, the projects are all amazing!!
Image may contain: outdoor

We are exploring this lovely combination:
Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray.

My starting point was some watercolouring using one of my new favourite stamp sets from the NEW Catalogue (starting next week!! woohoo!).
It is Very Vintage - one of the gorgeous selection of Hostess Stamp Sets!!

After my free spirited (read 'messy') colouring of the flowers, I was stumped until I decided to create a lovely double z fold card using all of the stamps in the set to create some stamped DSP.

This is my Mum's birthday card for tomorrow, and she's a very gifted crafty lady with knitting, crocheting, tatting and sewing and some card making too (featuring sewing and tatting!!).

I love the soft finish of these colours together.

I've used all of the images from the stamp set on this card (great value when we get to use them all at once!! teehee!) and a couple of the greetings.
There are actually 5 greetings in the set and 5 delicious vintage images.

At first I wasn't so sure about the combination of the messy watercolouring with the clean stamping on the card (I did try the same design with sponging but it looked awful - so you don't get to see that!!) but in the end, I love how this has turned out, and I hope Mum does too!!

Now it's time for you to hop along to see Roses stunning stained glass card.

After you've finished the hop, add your project to our lineup at our facebook challenge page!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,
Love Julia  x

Fun Critters for SUO#200

Hello and Welcome to another fun challenge with SU! Only Challenges.
We use Stampin' Up! Only products to inspire you with amazing ideas and projects.

This time, the challenge is to use animals or critters in your project.  How fun and easy is that!!

Image may contain: text

I've been totally inspired by this cute little fellow in the graphic, and so my card features the super adorable Hedgehugs stamp set.

I have paired this little cutie with the Share What You Love DSP which has some gorgeous colours and patterns.

My card base is Tranquil Tide which coordinated perfectly with this divine paper.

This card is double sided which is a great way to show off lovely papers!!

I've created 2 cards out of one sheet of A4 cardstock.  I scored the card at 7.4 cm all the way along the long edge.  I then sliced the cardstock in half with a diagonal slice to create the multi-height card.  On each short side I measured 5" from the top and joined these up for the diagonal edge. I'm sure there's a particular name for this sort of card, but I've just created a design that works on a standard A4 sheet.  The finished card is smaller than usual - being 7.5 cm x 14 cm.

The top edge of the card features a strip of tranquil tide punched with the ribbon edge punch. - I've done 2 of these - one for the 'front' and another one for the 'back' of the card.

To add all the little images onto the card, I've stamped every single stamp from the stamp set!!

There's quite a bit of fussy cutting, but the finished result is really worth it!

The greetings have been stamped onto white cardstock cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits.

My last touch was to create 2 coordinating envelopes from the same Share What You Love DSP.

I hope you've been inspired too!  Grab out your stamps featuring any critters and animals and add your projects into our lineup this week!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,

Fun with Stampin' Up! Kit inspiration CTC#179

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop CASEING the CATTY.

We like to inspire you and share our ideas generated from the amazing projects in our Stampin' Up! catalogue.  CASEING is all about Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit.

No automatic alt text available.

This week, our inspiration is coming from any of the kits from any catalogue!!

I have been inspired by the gorgeous layouts from the Soft Saying kit - it is featured on page 10 of our Annual Catalogue.

I have a bit of a story to share with you..... these cards are using some left overs from another project I've created for a future Caseing the Catty post!!

One of the most amazing and awesome new products in our NEW Catalogue starting on June 1st, is some laser cut Delightfully Detailed Specialty DSP.  It has 2 different designs of 12" x 12" paper laser cut into some gorgeous patterns.  I sponged 1 full sheet of the DSP using Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue and Gray Granite.  It comes with some tissue paper in between each sheet, and the negative of the pattern of the DSP has been sponged as well on to the tissue paper!!

So, these pieces of sponged tissue paper became my card fronts, and I've added a stamped greeting and some snipped pieces of the laser cut DSP as embellishments.  The greeting comes from the Soft Sayings stamp set (which comes in the kit) and I've used the tags from the NEW Share What You Love embellishment kit (available this month EARLY!!!)

The only extras are some silver bakers twine, some vellum pieces and a couple of leaves punched using the Leaf Punch from the Blueberry Bushel card stock.

I really love these colours together, and it was just beautiful to see the tissue paper all coloured!!  You can actually see some blurring of the design where I've moved the DSP, but I really do love this effect too!!!

I hope you've been inspired to look at our kits in new and different ways!  Keep hopping all the way through the design team, and you'll see some amazing ideas to get your creative brain into action!!

When you've finished the hop, add your projects to our facebook challenge page with this link!!

Until Next Time
Happy Stamping,
Love Julia   x
