A Christmas Twist for CTC#156

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop where we CASE the Catalogue and inspire you to see the potential in our catalogues too!! 

 CASEing is as easy as Copy And Selectively Edit or Copy And Share Everything, and this is an awesome way to get your creative juices going when you have no ideas.  

This week we are CASEing any project from our Annual Catalogue and giving it a Christmas Twist.

So, in the 233 pages of the Annual Catalogue, this card on page 27 was the one that happily helped me find a Christmas Twist!!

I also have an audience in mind for this card.  This is my project card for a group of senior citizens who are learners, but still love to have a go at creating a few times a year.

So, I try to create quite simple cards and layouts for them - stamping is not their strong point, so the focus is usually on our fantastic Designer Series Papers and combinations of colour and shape.  

For our Christmas card, we are using the Merry Music DSP as the background (CASEing the dark background of the original card) and then adding some Year of Cheer DSP and foil highlights.  

The washi tape detail at the top of the panel is also the Year of Cheer washi which has a colour for every type of foil!!

After creating the dark background, I also tried using a few of the other designs in the Merry Music DSP.

The panel with the greeting uses the Everyday Label punch or the Starburst punch as I thought the Best Badge punch would not translate so well for a Christmas card.

I've used the Holly Berry punch and foil along with glimmer paper for the extra leaf detail on the bottom right of the original card.  

I know my lovely ladies LOVE glittery and shiny cards, so I hope they enjoy our cards at the class.  The stamping has been done in Smoky Slate or Soft Suede which coordinate well with the metallics.  The greetings come from a range of stamp sets which feature lovely inside verses as well - 

Star of Light, Holly Berry Happiness, Night in Bethlehem, Christmas Pines.

Christmas colour INKspiration #22 & 23

Hello and Welcome to this awesome Christmas Colour INKspiration challenge!!

I love BOTH of these colour schemes. 

Our first amazing image includes:  

Marina Mist, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede.  

What do you think?  They are soft and quiet and the beachy image is just gorgeous.... so it all spoke to me of this sweet stamp set - Beachy Little Christmas.

I've created another z fold card and used the Sahara Sand for the 'beachy' bottom edge.

All the images have been coloured using our Stampin' Write Markers in all the colours.

I created the background using a wash of the Marina Mist and an aqua painter on our Shimmery white cardstock.  

This is such an AWESOME stamp set for here in Queensland!!!

Our second colour group is just as amazing too - the colours are:  

Crumb Cake, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White and Silver Foil.

My card is inspired by the various ornaments and decorations hanging from the mantel. Aaaaaand, I really wanted to finally ink up this lovely wreath from Feeling of Christmas.  It's been sitting on my desk with sad eyes waiting......

I've again coloured using our Stampin' Write markers (sometimes I forget that we can just use the markers for colouring in - mostly I use them to multi colour stamps or for journalling while scrapping).  I am grateful to the arrival of our new Stampin' Blends because they've helped me rediscover colouring!!  Thank you Stampin' Up!

And then, when I had the wreath coloured, I added some (lots) of ribbony extras around the top.  The image pleaded with me to create a window or door for the wreath to hang from - so out came the Hearth and Home framelits for the silver foil; some Pinewood Planks on a Crumb Cake background and my piece was complete.  The finishing touch is the greeting hanging from the bottom of the window.  I had to hang it from the bottom because I didn't want to cover up any more of the window detail!!  If you look closely you can see some extra yummy Real Red enamel shapes on the wreath to give it some extra texture.

Celebrate Any Winter Holiday with SUO#188

Hello and Welcome to Stampin' Up! Only Challenges (SUO).

Our challenge this time is to Celebrate Any Winter Holiday - which could mean Thanksgiving if you're in America, or Christmas in the northern hemisphere.  

My choice this time was to create a sparkly gold and white Christmas featuring our gorgeous Year of Cheer DSP, Gold Glimmer Paper, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, with some Gold Foil for the holly leaves.  

My trees come from our fabulous Card Front Builder thinlits, and the awesome Holly Berry Builder Punch helped me create a few extra embellishments.  The Gold embossed greeting comes from Add a Little Glitz stamp set.  I've added a white piece of cardstock edged with the gold Year of Cheer washi tape into the centre of my z fold card to enable a greeting to be written.

Inspired by Gift Packaging for CTC#155

Hello and Welcome to another Sunday Night Blog Hop Caseing the Catty.

We love to inspire you with new eyes when you look at our Stampin' Up! Catalogues as we Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit the fabulous projects illustrated for you in the fabulous photos in our Catalogues!!

This week we are CASEing any Gift Packaging from any Catalogue.  

And my inspiration comes from the darling little pizza box on page 44 of the Holiday Catalogue. 

Our son recently turned 21, and I wanted to create something special BUT, masculine cards are somewhat challenging (in my opinion!!!!).  So.......  when we had to CASE some gift packaging and I was browsing through the INCREDIBLE variety of inspiration, I had a light bulb moment!!  This little layout on the pizza box would work for me to create my masterpiece!!  

I've used Wood Textures DSP for the front and base and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks folder.  I then used the Champagne Foil sheets for my balloons (gotta have balloons on a birthday card for a guy) and for the starburst behind my numbers.  The Number of Years stamp set and coordinating Large Numbers framelits ALWAY get an amazing workout at my creative desk.  I've added some copper washi tape and copper trim across the middle of the card.  The greeting at the base of the card uses Banners for You for the banner and I have gently bent the photopolymer stamp around the curve for the greeting from Number of Years.  

This card is 6" x 6" with lots of room for all of us to write our best wishes onto his card.  So I have created a coordinating envelope with a swing tag at the front which features N for Nicholas.
