CASEing the Catty Birthday Chapter CTC#141

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop! We are a group who LOVE to CASE the Stampin' Up! catalogue and then share our inspiration with you, and challenge you to join in the fun too.

This time we are CASEing the Birthday chapter of our Annual Catalogue - pages 68 -85, which has some lovely ideas............ so I did a lot of flicking back and forth through the pages for my inspiration!!

Finally I settled on page 71 and these lovely cards which all feature some colouring techniques - which is our class focus for this week so there's a bonus for me!
Class planning AND blog planning in one easy day of creation!!  Win Win!!

I've used all different stamp sets, but kept the same colours and layouts - see what you think....

My first card features a sneak peek from our holiday catalogue - Beachy Little Christmas - but I've used it for another purpose.  I love stamp sets that have multiple uses!!  More value for my purchase!!
I've coloured using watercolour pencils and the Clear Wink of Stella onto shimmery white cardstock.

This card is inspired by the gift box and features Better Together - another super flexible stamp set useful for lots of occasions.  I've coloured using Powder Pink and Sweet Sugarplum ink onto whisper white cardstock using an aqua painter.

My final card uses a messy watercolour technique - once again using an aqua painter and ink pads - this time Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi.  This is a super quick way to colour - great when you're in a hurry - but it looks messy and artistic (have to give this one to someone who appreciates art and won't think that it was done by a toddler!!! lol)  The featured stamp set is Butterfly Basics - an oldie but a goodie.

And here are my cards positioned next to the catalogue - what do you think?

Now it's time for you to hop along to see Rose's awesome card - just love her graphic style.

And if you would love to join in the fun of our challenge, head over to our facebook challenge page and add your photo of your project inspired by the Birthday Chapter of our Catalogue!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping.
Love  Julia   x

  3. Gosh you have been busy - and very clever. Your adaptations from the catalogue are great. The beach Christmas birthday is my fave. Love the colouring. Is the butterfly basics a shaker card behind that large coral coloured ring? Looks great

    1. THank you Liz. Actually no, it's not a shaker card - just a die cut circle to draw your attention to the images - interesting effect when I compared the card with and without the circle - it does give it some pizzazz.

    1. Thank you Judy, yes the second card could be adapted for lots of occasions and it would be a great class card too - not too complex, but it looks lovely.
