SUO CHallenges - A Blast from the Past with a Quilted Christmas

Hello and Welcome to our 7th Anniversary blog post for Stampin' Up! Only Challenges.
What an amazing milestone!!  To celebrate we are sharing a Blast from the Past - challenging ourselves and you to use a stamp set or project from the past!!
I'm on the team at SUO!
I have decided to use an oldie but a goodie project that I used a lot when I was first demonstrating, and I've given it a whole new twist with some new sneak peek goodies from our Holiday Catalogue which starts IN ONLY 2 DAYS!!  Woo hoo!!

The sneak peek I'm  sharing with you comes from the Quilted Christmas Suite in the Holiday Catalogue - and here are some of the gorgeous DSP papers and the super sweet stitched felt embellishments.

Each of the DSP sheets are 6" x 6" and this is the perfect size to make a cute little pocket.  I begin by placing the paper on the diagonal with the inside facing up.

The paper is folded in half to create a triangle.

Each of the side points are folded in to meet about 1/3 rd along the opposite side of the triangle.

This is done on both sides.

And then the top flap is folded down over the top of both of the points, and adhered to create a little pocket.

My final step is to adhere an embellishment at the point to finish off the pocket.

I've used these little pockets as gift packaging for a homemade biscuit for a special little gift, or, in this case I'm using the pocket to package some Christmas Gift tags.

These tags use another sneak peek from the Holiday Catalogue - the Merry Little Labels stamp set and the coordinating Everyday Label Punch, along with some lovely Real Red slim ribbon.

This little pocket is a sweet little gift and so quick to create - you could have a dozen whipped up in no time at all!!

This will be my hostess gift for the next month as we introduce the new Holiday Catalogue!!

I'm on the team at SUO!

Now, it's your turn to get on board and join in the fun with a Blast From the Past.  Make sure you head to our blog and see the fantastic creations from the whole design team - so much talent all there to inspire you!!.  We love to see your projects that are added to our challenge gallery.

Until next time,
Happy Stamping,
Love Julia.  x

Scrapbooking with Artistic Expression CTC#143

Hello and Welcome to our CASEing the Catty Challenge!!  We love to use the awesome Stampin' Up! catalogue as our inspiration for projects, and then we challenge you to do the same and join in the fun by adding your projects inspired by the Catty to our facebook challenge group!!

Image may contain: text

This week we are CASEing our Artistic Expression chapter of the Annual Catalogue - a large chapter of 49 pages of amazing ideas, projects and products!!  There is so much to love in this chapter!!

I've decided to add to my scrapbooking 'completed' pile and I've CASE this great page on page 155.

My page mirrors the layout exactly.  The page in the catalogue uses some great ideas with the Memories and More  Cards in a grid pattern for quick scrapping.  I've used the Colour Theory DSP stack for my main panel on the left side, and then this guided the colour choices for my page.  (Having a black and white photo makes colour choosing super easy but I've used the blues because the photo is a river photo with lots of blues in the original!!)

I've used Timeless Textures and Layering Love stamp sets of my greeting panel.  Lemon Lime Twist is my feature colour and it gives the Dapper Denim a really love fresh finish.

My embellishments come from the Dare to Dream stamp set and  a sneak peek combo of Painted Harvest and coordinating leaf punch.

The bottom panel features some washi tape for a quick extra colour interest.  I've also use the Ticket Tear punch to add some little strips of Lemon Lime Twist around my page.

I hope you're now inspired to have a go at creating from our Artistic Expression chapter of the Stampin' Up! catalogue!!  Be sure to hop through the whole design team and see their AMAZING projects - every week I love love love seeing all the fantastic and inspiration projects from the CASEing the Catty team!!
You can add your lovely projects here on our facebook challenge page!!

And now it's time for you to hop over and see the BEAUTIFUL card from Rebecca - you'll love the colours!!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping,

Christmas Colour INKspiration #16

Hello and Welcome to the Colour INKspiration Challenge!!

This challenge features the colours of:  Whisper White, Dapper Denim, Sahara Sand, and Basic Gray.
Image may contain: bedroom and indoor
Happily, these colours spoke to me of Christmas!!!

Why?  Because I have some NEW goodies from the preorder of our Holiday Catalogue, so I really didn't need much encouragement to be inspired towards Christmas!!  This card features a sneak peek from the catalogue - it's the Night in Bethlehem stamp set and coordinating Bethlehem Edgelit Dies which is sold in a bundle (save 10% woo hoo!).

I've made a double Z fold card so Mary and Joseph are travelling along the front of the card with the Bethlehem silhouette in the background.  The stars in the night sky and the gorgeous greeting have been heat embossed white to surround the lovely star of Bethlehem cut from the dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.  The front z fold has the top edge torn from the Sahara Sand to emulate the sand environment of the trek through the desert for the travellers.

My second Christmas card is featuring the Carols of Christmas bundle which is available NOW so you can start early with your Christmas creating.  This bundle features the Carols of Christmas stamp set and the coordinating Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies.

I've used exactly the same layout for both cards - a double z fold - as well as the same colours and the featured Dapper Denim night sky.  The stars on this card are created using one of the Framelits cut into the Dapper Denim, and then some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper adhered behind to sparkle and twinkle in the sky.   The front z fold of this card is torn Whisper White to simulate snow drifts.

Added Edit - The dimensions for these cards are in metric.  Cardstock is 10.5 cm x the length ofA4 which is approximately 29.6cm.  I have scored at 14cm and 22cm along the long side of the card.  The strip in the front for the double z fold is 3cm x the length of A4 and also scored at 14cm and 22cm along the long side.  The top edge is then torn for the extra texture.   I hope this helps!

AND..... I love both of my cards - one full of snow and sparkly trees, and one set in the desert with the sparkly star.  The dazzling diamonds glimmer paper is so so perfect for Christmas Cards!!!

I must admit I know nothing of snowy lands or desert climes, but I do know about a starry sky - we live far enough away from any light pollution to have a marvellous sky where we live on the Sunshine Coast in tropical Queensland.

Now it's time for you to hop along to see our next awesome colour INKspiration from Mel and her ADORABLE card!!

And please join in the fun and add your project to our facebook challenge page!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping.

Whole Lot of Lovely for Love & Sympathy Chapter - CTC142

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop!!  We at CASEing the Catty love to inspire you and challenge you to share ideas by using our awesome Stampin' Up! Catalogues as your starting point.  CASEing is all about Copying and Sharing Everything!!

No automatic alt text available.

This week we are CASEing from the Love and Sympathy chapter of our Annual Catalogue
- pages 86 - 101.

I could NOT go past the projects on page 86 which feature the GORGEOUS Whole Lot of Love Suite and this glorious DSP!!

My card CASES the card in the top right of the picture - same layout but different paper from the DSP stack, and a different stamp set.

This is such a great layout, I simplified it a lot, and then we created a bunch of cards for our church Care and Concern group to send out when needed.

Half of the cards were created for male recipients, and half for female - the DSP used for these cards was:  Petal Garden, Delightful Daisy, and Bundle of Love.

I love being inspired by our Catalogue - and I love the variation that is possible from one inspirational card!!  Did you notice the lovely little strip of mini sequin trim under the embossed panel?  This is such a sweet idea and I did not think of it myself;  I was inspired by our catalogue!!
Thank you Stampin' Up!

Now its' time for you to hop along and see Elizabeth's gorgeous creation.

Please join in the fun and add your project to our awesome gallery in our facebook challenge page!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping.
