Hello and Welcome again to our CASEing the Catty Blog Hop and Sunday Challenge!!
And this week, we are challenging and inspiring you from the Holiday Chapter - pages 112 - 125 - which celebrates Christmas (mostly).
And, I wondered for a second if I was ready for Chirstmas in July.... but, as you can see, nope, I'm not quite ready.
Soooooo...... the fabulous fantastic features (see what I did there?) of our challenge is that we are INSPIRED by our Catalogue. I've clapped eyes on that beautiful card in the centre top of the photo above, and thought, YES, I can make masculine/youth with this inspiration.
The Wood Textures DSP is exactly the same, and my image placement is too - but I've featured the fun and frivolous Message in a Bottle for my image. It's soooo cute with some versatile images suitable for guys and gals alike, and kids too. And it's photopolymer so placing those images inside the bottle is super easy for some great 2 step stamping!
I made this card for my darling husband whose birthday was last week - and he definitely floats my boat!! I've added some clear wink of stella pen to the water and sails for some sparkle.
And while I was having fun being inspired by Christmas, I chanced to see another card that has a great layout useful for all sorts of occasions and cards.
This card is inspired by the Merry Christmas tree card on the bottom right of the photo below.
Instead of using the DSP to stamp on as per the catalogue image, I've stamped the background using the Sheet Music background stamp image with Sahara Sand ink, and then sponged around the edges to age it a little.
My greetings hails from Wood Words along with the smattering of stars behind it that have been stamped a few times before reinking to give a variety of tones from the same colour. This is a very simple technique that looks great!!
I did think I was terribly funny using this greeting on a background of music notes - yes my kids think I'm ridiculously hilarious too!! (not, tee hee)
I really do love making cards, I love being inspired by the catalogue, and I love it when I giggle at my own silly jokes in my paper craft!! This cardmaking is a fun hobby!!
Now it's time for you to hop along to see the great project from Mel! Make sure you hop all the way around - the projects are always wonderful..... and inspiring too!!
And, please, join in the fun too!! This is a great challenge, and we love to share it with you!! Just add your photo to our facebook challenge page with your project inspired by the Holidays chapter of our catalogue!!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
Love Julia x
