We are almost at the end of winter here - Spring begins on the 1st of September and already the weather is warmer (not that it really gets cold where I live!! We rarely get below 8 degrees celsius on the Sunshine Coast Queensland Australia!!)
With the warmer weather comes thoughts of balmy summer nights and days sitting at the beach enjoying the breeze - and we have Christmas in summer too!!
So the lovely Christmas Pines set in our new catalogue spoke to me of rattling palm trees and ferns - so tropical and warm. And Paperless Post have set a challenge to create a Christmas Card with a summer twist!! You can see their Christmas Card page HERE.
About the only thing I DON'T do for Christmas Cards is snowman - purely because I've ONLY ever seen snow twice in my life!!! However, these lovely days are getting longer, so we are heading down to the beach for our afternoon walk more often and looking at the sunset and stars - and that's the look I've gone for with my Summery Christmas Card........
so what do you think?
I've used our new bundle of Christmas Pines and Pretty Pines thinlits - I have wonderful memories of creating pinecone centrepieces for Christmas as a child!! I love this stamp set, and the greetings in it are totally wonderful too. I've heat embossing some leaves with Old Olive, and cut our some more from cardstock to sit over the top. I've added some sequin baubles to hang from the fronds too. The stars are heat embossed with clear and I've given a lovely Dapper Denim wash for the background. This card could be an image of the sun sparkling on the water OR an evening sky under the palms. Did you see that too?
