Perfect Pennants Male card

I have done this card before, but this time, I was making this card for a male recipient..... so here is my boy version of this cute little banner card!!

I've used all Early Espresso instead of the Crisp Cantaloupe, and I've used lots of stars too.  What do you think?  Does it look more masculine?

CASEing the Catty Scrapbooking

This week the challenge at CASEIng the Catty is the chapter on Artistic Expression.    I have chosen to CASE the layout on page 157 - this is actually a digital layout in the Catalogue, but my creation is a traditional page.

I've used Lost Lagoon as my feature colour, and added some whisper white, and basic black.

My page is a big more subdued than the original with the black background.  I have used some of my new toys for the stamping - the Merry Everything stamp set and coordinating punch from our Holiday Catalogue, teamed with the lovely Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta Ribbon (which is just lovely!!!)

Instead of DSP like the original, I have made my own background paper by stamping the I Love Lace background stamp onto vellum.

The stars are punched from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch, as well as the Confetti Stars Punch.

Bloom with Hope - watercolouring

It is so pretty and even though I am so not into bright colours, I enjoyed making the card with Bloom with Hope.  I watercoloured the images with ink and the aquapainter - and I do love doing watercolouring.

The greeting is stamped onto vellum and stapled onto the floral panel over the top of some Bemuda Bay ribbon.

My final embellishment is a little vintage faceted button tied with white bakers twine.

Fall Colours

Well, this is a big blog post for me!!  This is my first project as a Design Team Member for SUO Challenges - a great challenge blog that I really enjoy - there are some beautiful projects on this blog with some amazing ideas and inspiration!!

You can have a go and enter your lovely design too!!

Now, in Queensland Australia, we don't really have a FALL season, BUT, I really love neutral colours, so this challenge is a good choice of colours for me!!

I have used some Kraft Cardstock for the base of the card, then some gold foil vellum for my background.  The embellishments include some Retro Fresh washi tape, natural filter paper punched with the pansy punch, scrunched and held together with a brad base and so saffron candy dot - one of my favourite embellishments!!  The little Ittty Bitty Accents punched flowers are actually hiding a bit of adhesive stuck to the vellum - but didn't they turn out to look lovely!!!  The greeting has been coloured with a marker just to highlight the 'hello' and comes from our lovely hostess set Good Greetings.  To finish the card I've tied some Baked Brown Sugar thick bakers twine around the vellum.  The layout for this card can be found on page 148 of the catalogue - check out the little box in the top right!!  I love the inspiration of the catalogue!!!

Colour Challenge

The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is a colour challenge - CLICK HERE to see the amazing work of the design team!!  The colours are:  Crushed Curry, Bemuda Bay and Basic Black - and this is my entry.

I've used Thoughts and Prayers, and Memorable Moments stamp sets.  The crushed curry in the background was created by stamping directly onto my cardstock with the inkpad - cool hey!!

My creative friends

I love when we get together and create!!  My friend Robyn made this little gorgeous card using the Project Life framelit for the gorgeous shape AND Robyn made the template for the little boot by drawing it freehand - how cool is that!!  Love the Winter Frost Washi Tape and Designer Series Paper.

We also made a coordinating envelope!!

Heather made this gorgeous little box which fits a yummy chocci inside just perfectly!!  It was so fun to make and the little image from A Round Array are just lovely.

Get Well Soon

My friend and I were chatting on the phone recently, and she was describing to me this great idea for a get well card that she had seen on pinterest.  So while we were chatting, I started creating .... and this is what I came up with!

When she sent me an email of the card she was talking about, I couldn't believe how different the designs were!!  Amazing how differently our minds work!  I love the cute lil bandaid on this card!!

Washi Tape fun!

Do you know the best thing about Washi Tape?  It's fun and quick!!  These little cuties were a snap to make!!  I have CASED the idea for these from page 147 of the catalogue - which is the chapter of note for the challenge this week for CASEing the Catty - and the chapter is about Thanks.

I've used Amazing Birthday for the greeting, and the Washi tape is retro fresh. I've used the colours of the Washi tape for my colours choices of cardstock and ink.  The little arrows are from Label Card framelits.

Don't they look so fresh and gorgeous - I love these colours together!!

Sparkle

Sequins are back in fashion - and don't they look great on a little card - to give it a bit of extra 'sparkle'  !!

This simple little card uses some Moonlight DSP, washi tape, Kinda Eclectic, the stars from Something to Say, and the greeting from Good Greetings!!

Clean and Simple

This card has been inspired by the beautiful work of Shelli Gardener whose lovely original you can see HERE.  I used the Crumb Cake ink pad to stamp straight onto the card, and then stamped the branch image from Bloom with Hope over the top using Mossy Meadow ink.

The card is finished with some rounded corners, washi tape, a button and twine and the greeting from Good Greetings.  Love it!!

Page 104 of the Catalogue

I have been on such a roll with the Card Giving chapter of the catalogue, that I decided to completely CASE the cards illustrated for the stamp set Something to Say.

I have wanted to make these since I first got this stamp set....

and the coordinating Moonlight Paper Pack goes with the stamps so well...

and the little itty bitty accents punch pack, are just great!!

I love the extra little embellishments of the candy dots,

and the ribbon, and a staple here and there!!  Great project, thank you Stampin' Up! for sharing with us such creativity to inspire us on every page!!

And my third CASE the Catty!!

This card hails from page 130 of the catalogue.... and it was a labour of love.... and I do love it!!

This card is a total CASE except for the staples I used instead of sewing. Oh, and I used cardstock instead of ribbon for the Island Indigo and Pear Pizzaz tied in the middle.  I also used Gorgeous Grunge for the splattering - so much easier!

I will also enter this card into the challenge this week at Just Add Ink - which is to make a Dad card!!  I posted off my Fathers Day card last week, BUT, on the weekend, I then found part of his gift in the cupboard where I stored ages ago!! So, I'm sending him ANOTHER Fathers Day card and gift which will be a huge surprise for him!!  hehehehehe

CASEing the Catty - 2nd card

As I said in my last post, I really got into this challenge and did quite a few cards!!  All for the fun of the challenge too!!  Actually, I'm really loving CASEing the catty - it really helps get the mojo going when I run out of ideas!!  Great idea for a challenge!!

This card is from page 127, and it looks TOTALLY different to the original!!

I've used the new incolours - Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss, with Kinda Eclectic, Good Greetings, and Something to Say for the little flowers.  I changed the opening of the card to make it more like a standard card (working out how to make the effect in the catalogue was too much of a challenge for me!!! teehehee)

CASEing the Catty #8

Over at CASEing the Catty challenge this week, the challenge is on the chapter called Card Giving and there are lots of beautiful projects to inspire and share.  For this challenge I actually did 4 cards, but the first one is this one, which I CASEd from page 108. My card is quite similar although a little smaller (I miscaluclated when I cut my Kraft cardstock, whoops!)  I've used Crushed Curry cardstock and chevron ribbon, some Typeset DSP and black and vanilla cardstock.

My greeting comes from the Good Greetings hostess set, and I've used linen thread to coordinate with the Kraft cardstock.  Oh, and I added a bit of Venetian lace - just because it's sooooo pretty!!
