Two by Two

Another CASE - this time from the annual catalogue.  This little cutie is a great baby card for either gender!! The central image is watercoloured onto watercolour paper with an aquapainter and inks and watercolour crayons.

The card is So Saffron with a panel of Pool Party and the edge is Riding Hood Red.  I had a lovely time colouring in this image.

Tea for Two

This card was inspired by the card I made for my daughter's birthday recently - I have used the same colours and the Tea for Two DSP.  This time, though, I have been inspired by a card I did at a class with  Jo Herbert whose blog you can see HERE.

The stamp set I have used is Bloomin' Marvellous - which was one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets.  The butterflies on this card are in Pool Party (whereas the previous card had Daffodil Delight butterflies).

The side panels of the card have been embossed with the Delicate Designs embossing folder.

Elegant Thank You

I have CASEd this lovely card by Sandi MacIver and you can see her website HERE.  

I have used the Blooming with Kindness stamp set for the greeting  but otherwise I have remained true to her original design - which is very beautiful.  I used Naturals White cardstock for the base of the card, and then the Top Note is in Pink Pirouette. 

The stamped image comes from Elements of Style, which I have watercoloured with Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Certainly Celery and Summer Starfruit.

A lovely flower using the Blossom punch, some ribbon and pearls, and the card is done!

Easter Egg

This is a fun idea!!  I have made a card using the ovals framelits out of Chocolate Chip, and then made another oval of the same size and put it in the Honeycomb embossing folder to make the eggy looking texture!!

To embellish, I have created a very stylish bow from champagne shimmer paper.  The greeting comes from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, which was then punched out with the jewellery tag punch and tied on with linen thread!!

Just Add Green

I have  a lovely friend who's birthday is on St Patrick's Day.... and here is her card for this year - she turns a wonderful milestone of 50!  In honour of St Patrick, I have kept to a very Green theme.

The gift envelope uses some Lucky Limeade Patterns Paper, and is embellished with Everything Eleanor - this cute little design I have copied from our Demonstrator magazine we receive regularly.

Her card is made with Gumball Green with a Certainly Celery Flower embellishment.  I have stamped on a paper doily, and also used some silver shimmer and the big shot for the 50.  In the background is a lovely stamp from Everything Eleanor again.

Her little gift is some tags - cut with the Two Tags die and the Big Shot and stamped with the Spring Sampler stamp set.

 This little project fits perfectly into the challenge at Just Add Ink which is to Just Add Green for St Patrick's Day.

High Tea with Tea Shoppe

My darling youngest daughter recently celebrated her 10th birthday, and she wanted to have a "High Tea" for her birthday party.  And what a fantastic opportunity to make lots of beautiful little goodies for the table. 

 Each of the guests received a little handbag (with a couple of chockies in it of course) which I made using the  Petite Purse die for the Big Shot.  On the top flap of the handbag is a stamped scallop circle with some bling for the "clasp".  The stamped image comes from the large tea cup from Tea Shoppe stamp set - which I have used for all of the projects.

Each of the guests also received a little thank you note handwritten by my daughter, and then popped into a little scallop envelope made with the Big Shot using some Pool Party Pattern Pack DSP.  The embellishments are done with Primrose Petals.

We also made a little scrunched scallop flower hair clasp for each of the guests.   Some lovely bling with the extra large rhinestone jewels.

And the place cards were made with easel cards decorated with some paper lace doilies, and stamped with the large tea cup in Primrose Petals.  Each place card had the initial of each guest.

Another exciting part of the High Tea was the purchase of some lovely china from the local op shop - some very beautiful second hand tea sets a wonderfully reasonable prices!!

Scrapbooking Sketch Challenge

At Just Add Ink this month, the scrapbooking challenge is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch.

I've been wanting to scrap some First Day at School photos, and use the Storytime DSP with it's wonderful childhood images of numbers, letters, and writing lines, so this sketch was just perfect!!

I also go to incorporate some pinwheels too!! Been waiting for the page to put these little cuties on too!!

I have stamped the great chevrons from the Oh Hello stamp set, at the bottom of the paper, and then at the top too.

Finally my banner is the title using the Number It stamp set.

By the Tide Canvas

I've been playing with the Canvas Creations and I've tried a couple of different ways doing the same card.

In this first sample, I stamped the images in Early Espresso and Raspberry Ripple onto the canvas, and then I sprayed with Isocol and a Bashful Blue reinker for the watery background colour - doing this after the stamping has made the image bleed a little (giving it a watery look I think).

On the second card I have coloured the canvas with the Isocol and Bashful Blue reinker first, dried it with the heat tool, and then stamped the images over the top.  This gave a really crisp finish to the images.

What do you think of the difference between the two?  For me, it's hard to choose between them!!  

Finishing touches are some raspberry ripple ribbon, a squashed soda pop top and the shell image stamped and fussy cut from the Raspberry Ripple.  These colours are used in the Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink this week and so I am entering into the challenge.  I have also used the great layout that was used in the challenge for the week before which was a sketch challenge.  I think this is a great design sketch, but I didn't get to enter the challenge last week...... but here it is now!!

Trust God

My new stamp set is Trust God, and it has some beautiful sayings in this set - this is just one of them and I have used it for the greeting for a dear friend on her birthday card.  

My embellishments are some two tone pink ribbon, some ribbon from the Artisan Embellishment kit, and some thin taffetta Early Espresso Ribbon.  The flower is cut from the Flower Trim and I dyed it with Perfect Plum reinker mixed with some water and Champagne Shimmer Mist.  The leaves are punched with the little oval punch from Certainly Celery.  You simply punch the oval and then punch again on the side to create the leaf shape.

The gift to go with the card is this hair clip - punched with the large Blossom punch from about 10 sheets of tissue paper (now available in the Seasonal Catalogue), then scrunched and put together with a brad.  I have put an extra large Rhinestone Jewel in the centre, and then stuck on a clip at the back using Sticky Strip (good strong double sided adhesive)

Here are the two together....... very pretty I think.

Butterfly Birthday

My youngest was 10 this week, and this is her birthday card.  The colours are Cameo Coral, and Daffodil Delight with some Gumball Green accents.  I have used That's the Ticket, Bloomin' Marvellous for the little butterflies, and Bring on the Cake for the greeting.

Tools used were the Elegant Butterfly punch and the Petite Butterfly punch, the Hearts a Flutter framelits, Builder Ticket punch, Flower Trim and Chantilly Lace Ribbon, and some Rhinestone Jewels on the butterflies.

The Best Things in Life

Having fun again with all the wonderful new oh so pretty embellishments in the New Seasonal Mini catalogue - and some absolutely beautiful new stamps too.  This time I have AGAIN used Hearts a Flutter, That's the Ticket, and Petite Pretties SAB, along with Feel Goods for the title. 

This gorgeous cluster consists of some two tone ribbon, some chantilly lace ribbon, seam binding, flower trim, paper lace doily, and some leaves punched with the 2 step bird punch.  The flowers have a scallop punched flower in the First Edition DSP under each flower cut from the flower trim.

Box Card again

I've had a request for the measurements for this Box Card - so here goes.............

Card size - 21cm x 11"

on the long side score at:  2 1/2", 4", 7", and 81/2"

and then on both short ends score 11/2" from each end.

you need to cut off every corner (the purple squares)  and then cut to the 4" line to make a flap (indicated by the grey thick lines).

this diagram is NOT to scale or anything, it's just a picture to help you. ( I needed my teenage son to help me work out how to do this!!!)   You need to fold all folds, and also manually score the diagonal lines to help the box fold correctly.  I used a ruler and the scoring tool from the score board for this step.

When adhering the box together, I folded the diagonal lines to make a point, into the middle of the box, and then folded the side panels over the top of this point, and then adhered the "flap" to the back of the side of the box.  I did this for every corner.  I hope this makes sense,...... if not, just book a party and I will do it for you for your project at your party!!!  :)
